Our Tutors

Our team of expert tutors teach in-person lessons in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as online.

What makes our tutoring team special?

We only take on the best of the best tutors to join our team and are proud of the quality and expertise that they offer. All our tutors are graduates of the world's top universities, specialists in their subjects from English to Economics, French to Latin. They are chosen for their own academic excellence and their wealth of experience as private tutors and teachers.

Our tutors only work for British Tutors and we really do work as a team. We work closely with our tutors and they are given continuous training, support and access to our wide library of resources. Our office is a hub where tutors can gather to talk through lesson plans, find curricula which best suit their students and discuss ideas with the team.

The safeguarding of our tutees is of primary importance to us. We run compulsory safeguarding training for all our staff, refresher courses and updates are mandatory. We only work with tutors who we would be happy to teach our own children in our own homes.

What makes the perfect tutor?

Every tutor on our team goes through a thorough recruitment process, which includes multiple interviews, presentation of lesson plans, professional and personal references and background checks. We look for three things which we think make the perfect tutor: academic excellence, experience and trust. We believe that confident tutors who can easily adapt their teaching style to each tutee are better able to build rapport with their students and, through this, make the best progress.

In private tuition the relationship between the tutor and the pupil is paramount and we take great care in making sure that the correct tutor is chosen for each student. Lines of communication between our tutors and our clients are always open and we encourage frank discussion to make sure that all the students' tutoring needs are met.

The revision techniques and consolidation work that you have been doing are really paying off. My daughter is much more able to tackle problems and has a methodical way of going about it.
My son’s confidence has soared multi-fold over just a few lessons and the fact that a 14-year-old boy
asked for additional lessons is the best testimonial any tutor can receive!
